The MITSUI-BUSSAN Scholarship Program for Indonesia was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1992 as a non-profit foundation under the approval of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (formerly the Ministry of Education), based on funds provided by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. This program aims to encourage Indonesian students who wish to study at universities in Japan and obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Selection schedule
- Registration period: Monday, January 13, 2025 – Friday, February 14, 2025.
- First selection process (online written exam): Sunday, April 20, 2025.
- The second selection process involves regularly checking the official announcements at www.mbkscholarship-id.com and responding to email invitations.

• If there is a discrepancy between the information in the email invitation and the announcement on our official website, please contact the Secretariat immediately, at least 1 day before the examination.
• The first, second, and third selection processes are free.
Facilities
- Round-trip plane tickets to and from Japan.
- Arrival allowance of 50,000 yen.
- Monthly living expenses amounting to 145,000 yen.

Requirements
- Is an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
- Aged a maximum of 20 years on April 1, 2025.
- Not married yet.
- High school graduates from the science and social science tracks, not vocational school graduates.
- Having value with the following conditions:
• Applicants from the science major must have a minimum score of 80 in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English in the 4th and 5th semesters.
• Applicants from the IPS department must have a minimum score of 80 in Mathematics, Economics, Geography, and English in the 4th and 5th semesters.
• Applicants may include the grades from semesters 3 and 4 if the grades from semesters 4 and 5 are not available.
• Applicants who follow the learning system with the Merdeka Curriculum are invited to choose either the science or social science major, adjusting to the subjects taken at school. - Ready to learn Japanese.
