Scholarship for International Graduate Students

  Full Scholarship Top-Up Scholarship
Term of scholarship For PhD students only, Scholarship term is not over than 3 yrs.
  • For Master students, Scholarship term is not over than 2 yrs.
  • For PhD students entering with Bachelor degree, Scholarship term is not over than 5 yrs.
  • For PhD students entering with Master degree, Scholarship term is not over than 3 yrs.

Applicant’s Qualification

 

Must be international student who applies to study or is studying in PhD Degree or Master Degree with Thesis/ Dissertation at Chulalongkorn University.

GPAX Qualification

Entry with Master’s Degree with GPAX not less than 3.50 or accepted to transfer from a Master’s to PhD Degree.

English Proficiency Score

English Proficiency Score must meet one of the following tests below or get exemption

  • CU-TEP : With a minimum of 75
  • TOEFL : With a minimum of 550
  • IELTS : With a minimum of 6.0

Apply to study or studying in Master or PhD program and is in the process of receiving in any of the following main scholarships

Provisions of the Scholarship      
Tuition Fees R
  • Rate of Thai Student – Support by Graduate School

Stipend

10,500 THB – Support by Graduate School

  • At least 5,000 THB/month from the main scholarships
  • Not over than 5,500 THB/ month – Support by Graduate School
  • Total of stipend is not over than 10,500 THB
Transportation

Support only once in all study period
and actual payment in Economy class only
(For students in ASEAN countries only)

Accommodation

5,500 THB / month for staying at CU I-House
– Graduate School and Faculty/Program support in the proportion of 50:50

Scholarship Conditions

Scholarship recipient must:

  1. Be a full time student in all period of scholarship receiving.
  2. Sign in the scholarship contract with the Graduate School.
  3. Not receive other supportive scholarship from other resources, except of stipend part for Top-Up Scholarship.
  4. For Full Scholarship, recipient must work as a teaching assistant (TA) of faculty/college or programs for 6 HRS per week for a half duration of studentship.
    For Top-Up Scholarship, recipient must work as a teaching assistant (TA) of faculty/college or programs for 3 HRS per week for a half duration of studentship. In case that student has already worked as TA over 6 hrs. For other scholarships, he/she does not have to work these 3 hrs.
  5. Submit the study report and the thesis/dissertation progress report with the approval from thesis advisor every end of the semester within 2 weeks of the study result announcement day.
  6. Notify in his/her thesis’s Acknowledgement page and submit Abstract, Approval page and Acknowledgement page in PDF. File to the Graduate School after graduation.
  7. Be allowed from the Graduate School if he/she needs to leave to his/her country.
Scholarship Termination / Suspension

All scholarship will be terminated if the scholarship recipient:

  1. Leaves of education
  2. Has cumulative GPA lower than 3.25 in 2 consecutive semesters.
  3. Does not follow any of Scholarship Conditions.
  4. Receives the symbol “U” in thesis evaluation.
  5. Cancels his/her study with inappropriate reasons.
  6. Has dishonest behavior and plagiarism.
    If scholarship recipient leaves of education or to his/her country without permission from the Graduate School, stipend and accommodation fees will be suspended in the period of leaving.
Scholarship Reimbursement  

In case that the Graduate School terminates the scholarship payment, the recipient must reimburse in received actual payment. If the recipient has done his/her TA works, he/she does not reimburse for his/her stipend in the period of their TA works. (Semester equals 6 months and Trimester equals 4 months)
